Marvin Ridge soccer beats Providence in match of undefeated teams

The Marvin Ridge boys soccer team traveled to Providence High Monday and beat the Panthers 3-1 in a non conference match between two of the state's top teams.

Marvin Ridge (8-0-1) and Providence (4-1-3) both came into the game undefeated. Marvin Ridge is ranked No. 1 in the latest 3A state coaches poll. Providence is No. 14 in the 4A poll.

Marvin Ridge had goals from Matt Hawse, George Wallace and Daniel Smith. Providence's lone goal came from Harris Duracek.

Providence's next game is at Rocky River Tuesday. Marvin Ridge hosts Jay M. Robinson Sept. 20.
