Each week, South Charlotte News prep sports writer Corey Inscoe breaks down the biggest south Charlotte football games and give predictions for every area contest.

Last week: 5-3
Overall: 37-11

Charlotte Latin at Charlotte Christian: It's great when the private schools finally start playing conference games, and this could be a good one. Don't be fooled by Christian's 2-3 record. The losses have come to three good out-of-state teams: Gilman (Md.), Liberty Christian (Va.) and Hammond (S.C.). Latin's four-game win streak ended at Bluefield (W. Va.) last week. My pick: Charlotte Christian.

East Rutherford at Providence Day: The Chargers have just their second home game of the year in a brand new stadium tonight. Providence Day (4-2) has to bounce back from the Porter Ridge loss. East Rutherford also comes into the game 4-2. My pick: Providence Day.

Ardrey Kell at Myers Park: Ardrey Kell (4-1) struggled in a 35-7 loss against Independence last week. The Knights will want to come back with a win against Myers Park to stay near the top of the Southwestern 4A standings. Myers Park (3-3) beat East Meck last week, but has yet to have two consecutive wins this year. My pick: Ardrey Kell.

East Mecklenburg at Butler - My pick: Butler
Providence High at Independence - My pick: Independence
South Mecklenburg at Rocky River - My pick: Rocky River
Charlotte Country Day at Woodberry Forest (Va.) - My pick: Charlotte Country Day
