Country Day to host 2nd Hare and Hounds cross country race Sept. 22

Charlotte County Day School is hosting the second Hare and Hounds Cross Country Invitational Sept. 22 at McAlpine Creek Park. Races start at 9 a.m.

The top team in each race will get a "Hare" trophy and the second team will win a "Hound" trophy. The top 15 individuals in each race will get a black dog tag with the race name and place on it.

More than 45 high schools and middle schools are expected to compete in the event.

Schedule:

9 a.m.: Varsity boys Championship
9:30 a.m.: Varsity girls Championship
10 a.m.: Varsity boys invitational
10:30 a.m.: Varsity girls invitational
11 a.m.: Middle school boys
11:30 a.m.: Middle school girls
