Providence Day runner Ben Huffman makes school history

Providence Day cross-country runner, junior Ben Huffman, ran a personal best time of 15 minutes, 21.20 seconds at Saturday’s adidas cross-country invitational Saturday in Cary. His previous best was 15:45 last year.

Huffman’s newest time is the fastest-ever run by a Providence Day cross-country boys or girls athlete.

The old record was 15:26 set by Lewis Woodard, who ran at William & Mary.
Huffman’s time ranks No. 3 statewide and No. 26 nationally.

On Nov. 24, Huffman will run in Cary at the Nike Cross-Country Regional event, trying to qualify for the national in  Portland, Ore.
