Viva Loudoun Sept. 18 Girls Volleyball Preview
Briar Woods at Loudoun County, 7 p.m.
The Skinny: Host Raiders (6-0 in district) have won 46 straight matches against Dulles District opponents and are looking for a 7th consecutive regular-season district title. The Falcons (4-2) fly into Leesburg off a big win on Thursday over Loudoun Valley
Dominion at Park View, 7:15 p.m.
The Skinny: Battle of Route 7 features a Park View (0-6) squad looking for its first district win against a Dominion (1-5) team that gained its first Dulles win last Tuesday over Champe.
Freedom at Stone Bridge, 7 p.m.
The Skinny: Non-District match-up pitting two AAA teams that made state playoff runs in 2011. Stone Bridge is unbeaten at 10-0 having dropped just three sets in 32 played. Freedom is 5-4. Both teams played at the Loudoun Valley tournament Saturday but didn't face each other.
Heritage at Loudoun Valley, 7 p.m.
The Skinny: It is always a treat when Carmel Keilty brings her Pride (4-2) out to Purcellville to face Laird Johnson's Vikings (3-3). Both coaches have won state titles ... at Valley! Toss in that tonight is a Dig Pink event at Valley and it will be a rocking atmosphere in The Jungle.
Potomac Falls at Champe, 7 p.m.
The Skinny: The Panthers (5-1) only blemish this season has been in the opening week to Loudoun County. Champe (1-5) has won 11 of 27 sets played this season.
Woodgrove at Tuscarora, 7 p.m.
The Skinny: Match-up of third-year programs with the Huskies (4-2) currently tied for third. The Wolverines (2-4) sits two games under. 500.

The Skinny: Loudoun County started fast and never looked back as the cruised to a 3-0 (25-5, 25-8, 25-7) victory over Park View Thursday. Leading the Raiders to victory were Mandy Powers (17 service points, 8 assists, 4 aces, 1 dig), Taylor Huewe (8 kills, 8 service points, 3 aces, 1 dig), Kelsey Slack (10 service points, 3 aces, 2 digs), Megan Fox (6 assists, 8 service points, 4 aces), Hannah Vandegrift (8 assists, 3 service points), Jane Feddersen (4 kills, 1 service point, 1 block), Rachel Roberts (4 kills, 1 block), Maggie Phillips (4 kills, 2 service points), Kirsten Covell (3 kills, 2 blocks), Taylor Borup (3 kills, 3 service points, 1 ace, 1 dig), Kelsey Anderson (4 service points, 3 digs), Emily Solis (3 digs, 2 service points, 1 ace), Nicole Orndorff (1 kill, 1 assist). The Skinny:Loudoun County fought off a scrappy Tuscarora team from across Leesburg to keep their lead in the Dulles District. The Raiders stumbled out of the gate but found their rhythm for a 3-0 victory (25-22, 25-15, 25-14). The Lady Raiders were led by Kelsey Slack (23 digs, 12 service points, 2 aces, 2.5 passing rating), Taylor Huewe (12 kills, 3 digs, 2 blocks), Rachel Roberts (7 kills, 3 blocks), Maggie Phillips (5 kills, 4 digs, 8 service points, 1 ace, 1 block), Quinn O'Connell (4 kills, 4 blocks, 2 digs), Nicole Orndorff (3 kills, 4 digs), Mandy Powers (15 assists, 7 service points, 4 digs), Megan Fox (10 assists, 2 service points, 2 digs, 1 ace), Hannah Vandegrift (5 assists, 2 service points), Kelsey Anderson (9 digs, 2 service points), Emily Solis (8 service points, 3 digs, 1 ace), Taylor Borup (1 block), Kirsten Covell (1 dig). The Skinny: Panther Kayla Carlton led PFalls on the night and set two new school records! Her 21 kills gave her the Potomac Falls school mark for career kills with 704. And she had a single match record 46 digs! She also had an ace and 8 service points.
