Mallard Creek wide receiver Marquez North, the state's top recruit, has been added to the U.S. Army All-American game.

North will get his jersey at a ceremony at his school Tuesday at 1 p.m. Vance linebacker Larenz Bryant is being honored at a similar ceremony Thursday and Butler linebacker Peter Kalambayi on Friday.

Bryant has committed to South Carolina, Kalambayi to Stanford.

North has not committed to a school yet and is sitting out the remainder of the season after having shoulder surgery late last month. He missed the Mavericks regular-season finale and I-Meck 4A championship-clinching win over Hough, and he missed last week's first round playoff win over Lake Norman.

North, a 6-4, 220-pound senior, had 20 catches for 322 yards and seven touchdowns this season. He rushed 45 times for 642 yards and 18 touchdowns.

Last month, North visited Florida and Tennessee. He has offers from both schools as well as about 20 other SEC, ACC and Big 10 schools. Rivals ranks North the No. 28 recruit in the nation, regardless of position. He is the top ranked recruit in the Carolinas by many publications, including the Observer.
