Leesburg (Nov. 25, 2012) - The Leesburg Christian School (LCS) Lady Lions varsity volleyball team captured the program's first ever ODACS (Old Dominion Association of Christian Schools) state title recently and finished with a school-record 24-1 overall record, including 14-1 in conference. The squad then went on to finish sixth at a national tournament.

This team has had three previous appearances in the ODACS Final Four under Coach Christa Schlichting. The Lady Lions were led by senior captain and setter, Serena Snead, who received the state tournament MVP.
Seniors, Macy Mashaw (middle hitter), and Grace Muskett (outside hitter), were also named to the ODACS all-tournament team.
The team has been coached by Schlichting for five years on the varsity level. Six of the athletes have participated in the local LYV league under Schlichting (then, Coach Overstreet) as well as in the JV program at LCS.
Schlichting said: "This was a particularly special team having started in middle school in the LCS volleyball program. They have worked hard for the goal of achieving a new school record and state title before graduating from LCS this spring."
The achievements didn't end there as the Lady Lions went on to the National Association of Christian Athletes (NACA) competition, in Dayton, Tennessee, finishing sixth out of 28 Christian school teams from across the nation.
Team member, Kaylee Judd, was named to the all tournament team for Leesburg.
