Longtime Charlotte Country Day football coach Bob Witman won his 200th game at the school Friday when the Bucs beat Carolina Pride 49-23.

Witman was named head coach of the Country Day varsity team in 1990 and since that time has amassed a 200-50 record, leading the Bucs to seven NCISAA state championships and 13 NCISAA state championship appearances. He is the winningest football coach at the school.

Witman has had two players advance to the professional level. Alvin Pearman ('01) who played with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Seattle Seahawks. Most recently, Max Gruder ('07) signed as a free agent with the Atlanta Falcons.

Witman has also helped many players move their careers to the college level. There are currently 14 Country Day graduates playing football in college.
