On Friday, the Buccaneers beat North Raleigh Christian 2-0 (25-16, 26-24), Trinity School of Durham 2-0 (25-18, 25-19) and Wayne Christian 2-0 (25-2, 25-5). On Saturday, Country Day had five more 2-0 wins against Wayne Christian (25-6, 25-5), Wilson Christian (25-4, 25-13), North Raleigh Christian (25-19, 25-18), Cary Academy (25-16, 25-17) and Durham Academy (25-12, 25-14).
The wins take the Bucs to 22-1 this season. Asya Patterson led the team with 63 kills and Megan Lewis had 155 assists. Mattie Newson led the team with 21 aces and 98 digs.
Charlotte Christian and Providence Day also played in the tournament. The Knights won five matches and lost in the semifinals to Durham Academy 2-1 (25-14, 20-25, 15-10).
Providence Day won the second bracket of the tournament, beating High Point Christian, Saint Mary's and Ravenscroft Saturday.
