East Mecklenburg football coach Jeremy Buck has resigned, he told the Observer.
Buck said he was making the move for personal reasons.
"Due to the failing health of my family and my wife's family, I have resigned as head football coach at East Mecklenburg," Buck said in a text message. "I have taken a job back closer to home (in Chapel Hill) that will be announced (Friday) afternoon."
Buck, who previously coached at Harding, was 2-9 last season at East.
UPDATE: Buck was hired as coach at Franklinton Friday
